Always wanted to visit The Churnet Valley and never got there for one reason or another. Finally got there on the August Bank Holiday 2010, and I was not disappointed. Clear blue sky,nice and warm and The Churnet Valley Railway. The recipe for a perfect day. The 8F Number 8624 and a DMU were in service. With the Trains,canal boats,The beautiful surroundings and a Liquid lunch in The Black Lion the day passed too quick.

The West Lancashire Light Railway held their Gala Weekend on the 7th and 8th August 2010. I couldn't have been made more welcome and with Numerous Locomotives working an intensive passenger timetable, and with goods trains also running time seemed to pass fat too quickly . Only one word is necessary to describe the weekend and thats ' Brilliant '. Well done, Everyone involved should be very,very proud of themselves.Thank You. I look forward to another visit.

The South Cheshire Classic Bus Running Day was held on 4th July 2010 at the Crewe Heritage Centre. Classic buses ran an intensive timetable to Crewe Bus Station, Haslington, Weston, Bridgemere Garden World and Stapeley Water Gardens. Admitance to The Crewe Heritage Centre was free of charge to all who attended the event. Apart from strong winds the weather was much better than forecast. Many thanks to everyone involved in the organisation and smooth running of this event. All the volunteers, Crewe Heritage Centre, Arriva Buses and the vehicle owners for giving us, the enthusiasts a wonderful day.

 | | Middleton Railway 50th Anniversary Gala 2010 (36 images)
The Middleton Railway held their 50th Anniversary Gala on 19 & 20 June 2010. In addition to the ride in an open waggon to Park Halt the branch line to Balm Road was in use. A variety of Locomotives such as Mathew Murray,John Alcock D2999 , MSC67 and Sir Berkeley were in operation. Everyone involved with this Gala should be very proud of themselves as they produced a 50th Anniversary Gala that will be remembered by a lot of visitors and enthusiasts for a long time. Here is to the next 50 years.

First visit to The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. The 7 mile journey from Ravenglass to Dalegarth is outstanding. Sit back and relax as you pass through little villages and some stunning countryside. First visit,but don't think it will be the last.

Paid a visit to the delightful Rudyard Lake steam Railway near Leek in Staffordshire and found King Arthur and Excalibur in service.The 3 mile round trip runs alongside Rudyard Lake which was a hive of activity, Maybe the beautiful weather had something to do with it. Certainly everyone was enjoying themselves.

What I do remember about this day is having to pay some jobsworth in a Lada a some of money to have a wheel clamp removed from my car. Not one of my better days.

The Ribble Steam Railway opened to the public in September 2005. The line crosses the entrance to Preston Marina via a swing bridge, and runs alongside the River Ribble.These Photo's were taken some time before the official opening of the Railway,although I could not give exact dates.They have only just been found again after many years ( I am sure the long suffering wife assisted in their disappearance ) I hope you find them of Interest.
